In the world of the arts and artisans
today, the merging of creative forces from different locations
has become increasingly important. The exhibition "Das farbige
Licht" is a premium example of the high quality of work resulting
from such intercultural collaboration. Young German and Canadian
artists are presented jointly, demonstrating the originality
of glass-art in their respective countries, but also the spirit
of revival which characterises the state of this art world-wide.
Indeed, the recent advancements in glass-technology make an
ever more creative dealing with this material possible, as the
works of the artists prove. As Canada's Ambassador to Germany,
I would like to congratulate the Sattlers Stained Glass Studio
Ltd. and the Hans-Reiffenstuel-Haus for this very special exhibition
and wish the artists all the best for the future.
